Saturday April 15 - Fishing Clinic

This free, full-day, on-the-water fishing clinic will give you the skills that you need to fish from your kayak with ease. Our fishing ambassador Kenny Husk will show participants how to outfit their kayaks, and maneuver successfully on the water.

Saturday April 22 - Flatwater 1

This full-day, on-the-water class teaches the fundamentals of safety, types of strokes, entry and exit, as well as the concepts of edging and bracing.

This full-day, on-the-water class builds on the concepts of Flatwater 1, with an emphasis on edging and bracing and more advanced skills. Participants will paddle a longer distance to practice skills.

Friday May 12 - Florence Demo Day

Specifically for the Florence paddling community, we will be hosting a smaller version of Demo Day! We will have our entire fleet of Eddyline and Current Designs Kayaks on hand to try out. Don’t forget to bring your appetite, because the Darlings Restaurant will have lots of delicious food for lunch!

There is limited parking at the boat launch, so we recommend carpooling if possible. Canned food donations are encouraged for the Florence Food Share.

An extravaganza of boats at Dexter Reservoir. Brand reps and staff will be there to help you try out the perfect boat for you, whether that's a kayak, canoe, or SUP!

OPS will host a Gear Swap for all kinds of paddlers in our parking lot. Bring gear to buy, sell, and trade with other paddlers.

This introductory class meant primarily for whitewater kayaks spends the full day on the river teaching the basics of safety, reading water, and types of strokes.

This full-day, on-the-water class will teach the basics of paddle strokes, how to use your equipment, and safety on the water. Feel stable and confident on your board, learn paddling vocabulary, and meet new friends.

Saturday June 24 - Intro to Self Rescue

This class will cover the basic safety and skills required for confidence on the water, with a focus on multiple methods of wet exiting from your boat and re entry without assistance, off shore.
