Siuslaw PlayShop is NOT your ordinary workshop. It’s for those who love to PLAY outdoors and explore waterways and trails on the Central Oregon Coast. Join us Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Florence Events Center (715 Quince Street, Florence, Oregon) to experience our unique area, participate in paddle and/or hiking sessions, and connect with others who share your enthusiasm with the outdoors.
Saturday, April 27th - YMCA Healthy Kids Day
At Healthy Kids Day, children and families will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of healthy eats, nutrition and physical activity, mental and emotional well-being and developing healthy habits.
Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Eugene Family YMCA's Don Stathos Campus—600 E. 24th Ave.
Cost: FREE!

Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1 - Banff Mountain Film Festival
McDonald Theatre. Doors open at 6 and show starts at 7pm. Sponsored by the U of O Outdoor Program. Buy tickets online or at the door.
Saturday, May 4 - Florence Demo Day at Darlings Marina
Try out premium kayaks like Eddyline, Current Designs, P&H and Hobie from Oregon Paddle Sports, and enjoy lunch at Darlings Restaurant! There is no charge for participating, just come hang out! Parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended. This event is sponsored by the Florence Oregon Area Kayakers.

An extravaganza of boats on Saturday, May 11 at Dexter Reservoir. Brand reps and staff will be there to help you try out the perfect boat for you. Try them all!

Friday, May 17 - Basics of Paddling Class
Come one, come all! This full-day, on-the-water class designed for kayaks and canoes teaches the fundamentals of safety, types of strokes, and entry and exit.
Saturday, May 18 - Whitewater Class
This introductory class meant primarily for whitewater kayaks spends the full day on the river teaching the basics of safety, reading water, and types of strokes.
Saturday, May 25 - Gear Swap Meet
We are hosting a Gear Swap for all kinds of paddlers in our parking lot. Bring gear to buy, sell, and trade with other paddlers in your community!
Sunday, May 26 - Kayak Touring Class
This full-day, on-the-water class builds on the basics, with an emphasis on edging and bracing and more advanced skills. Participants will paddle a longer distance to practice skills.
